“For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because of your name as followers of Christ, truly I say to you, he will not lose his reward. Mark 9:41

Guys, we’re a week out from the 10 days ending! Can you believe it? Yeah, us neither. But we’re not quite done yet! Here’s what’s awesome:

We’re posting a fundraising update tomorrow with the amount we’ve raised so far. Annnnnd that’s right, you guessed it….that means you still have time to donate TODAY and be a part of that figure. We’d love to have all of you committed folks and any one who was planning to give to have their donations in for this debut!

We get that college is BUSY and sometimes this last step just gets put off in the craziness of your schedule. This blogger is the queen of procrastination, so I feel your pain. But, let this be a reminder that following through with the 10 Days is how we set this campaign into action. Your donation is key to providing clean water to the people of Rwanda. That’s what gets us pumped, our college-budget-sized gifts come together into something bigger to change lives and spread the good news of Jesus across the world.

Don’t doubt that every dollar counts in this. However small or big, your donation counts in the mission.

So, spread the word, remind friends, and take a second to visit the donate link today. We’re getting prettttttty excited to update you guys tomorrow! And by pretty, we mean really. Really excited.

A big thanks to those of you who have given and sacrificed. Join us in prayer as we continue to witness the Lord’s faithfulness in the home stretch! Pray for Rwanda, the water crisis, the hearts of our peers, and that glory be to God.

You’re all awesome. Email me if you have any questions: cturpin@water.cc

Texas A&M: Praise Be To God

What does it mean to rely on God? To depend on Him?  This is something I’ve struggled a lot with this past week.  I’ve heard it growing up in Sunday School.  Confession: In 6th grade, I thought I was way cool when I wore a FROG bracelet (Fully Rely On God) and was a step above all WWJD kids.  But this week, I’ve wondered what it really means, and how does it change my life?  I’m a senior in the midst of one of my more challenging seasons.  Multiple interviews each week in a sometimes overwhelming job search, making plans for the future, organizational involvements, and oh yeah there’s that thing called schoolwork that finds itself on the back-burner.  But what I’ve found myself putting on the back-burner even more has been my relationship with God.  It’s funny how my human nature is to think that the busier my day is, the harder it is to “squeeze in” time with God.  In reality, this is when I need him most.  In our busy, crazy seasons, it’s easiest to lose focus on eternal perspective. We need God more than ever to remind us that He is the only thing that matters.  So this 10 Days journey has been a beautiful representation to me of what relying on God can look like.  It doesn’t necessarily makes things easier, but it gives you the strength of the Holy Spirit to endure and persevere for His glory, whatever the circumstance.

Our turnout for the event featuring Phil Wickham and Jillian Edwards was around 850 on the conservative side, our biggest turnout yet. Praise be to God.  Through ticket sales, artwork in the front room and selling water bottles, we made almost $2000. This year, a student at a high school in the area decided to bring the 10 Days to his high school.  A group of South African students came to A&M for “Leadership for Change” program, and we got to show them a presentation where they were inspired to do the 10 Days, drinking water to give water at the University of the Free State, S. Africa right now.  Our President of our university mentioned us in his weekly email, which was a huge blessing and big deal for our big Aggie campus!
God is good.
